Leaving?

I don't understand it when someone says, "I'm leaving (insert group here) on (date), usually months away.  Some will add a comment similar to, "I'm just sitting around until then."   Or they bitch and moan about how awful everything is, act like a jerk in emails and in public, contributing nothing constructive.  Why?  Just leave.  Why put yourself ( Read more... )

If you're not happy you have the choice to either try to make a positive change or else leave. This concept works for many different areas such as relationships, jobs, etc.

Its also less dramatic to just stop renewing your membership and slide off the radar and some folks just seem to /need/ that kind of attention.

My favorite (NOT) is the hairflips who come back. That happened on a thread I'm a member of. Person got mad because everyone took my side of an opinion, complained that no one was talking to her (well, yeah, I was the only person around for a week because everyone else had vacation or severe overtime and I wanted nothing to do with her irresponsible parenting stories), did the big accusatory "I'm leaving and never coming back!" and came back in a week later like nothing ever happened.
