I don't think it was so much that they were all bad, just self-preserving and cowardly. They are practically opposites of Gryffindor, so it really does make sense...

I see what your saying, particularly about the self-preservation, but it still doesn't sit well with me. We see so many interesting characters, I'd have at least liked to see her give someone besides the Malfoys and Severus a few more levels, you know?

I suppose... I was really disappointed with Ginny in this book. JKR kept hinting at her being exceptionally powerful for her age, and she did nothing with her. She was all Gryffindor, but nothing that had anything to do with her strength of magic. I think that was my biggest disappointment with this book.

I actually grinned and said out loud..."[You] was right, blast it all." I've never been a big fan of LE/SS, as you know but I was coming to accept it. But I have to admit this was more than I thought. I never thought of Petunia's comment about that "aweful boy," being anyone but James Potter. I wondered about Snape being the owner of the doe patronus but it seemed odd to me and it didn't occur to me that it would be like Tonks whose changed because of Remus.

I hate what she did to Remus and Tonks mostly because it felt like she cheapened their relationship in the resurrection bit.

Anyway, All hail our great and glorious seer who foresaw the wonders of a Snape/Lily love and kept him faithful to her all the days of his life. Makes me feel better about caving in and writing SS/LE.
