I am FURIOUS

Jul 31, 2016 17:49

My new laptop is Windows 10. I set a password for my laptop. Windows 10 updated. Now I have to log-in with my hotmail account rather than the laptop password. This is actually worse security than I had before.

Can anyone tell me how to stop this? This is as bad as having to use Apple.

I don't blame you, that's why I'm staying as far away from W-10 as possible.

Sorry, can't help!

Old computer died. Sis got me a new one as a birthday present, hence Windows 10. Sympathy is always welcomed.

Wait... what?!

I've got a password on my laptop too. That sound terrible!

I'm crashing with a Windows tech support expert, and he says this is fixable, but he'll have to go check how. Back hopefully soon.

ETA: No, I'm pretty sure that's worse than Apple. :)

Thank you. I have managed to sever the log-in from my email account. It kept saying that I'd need to login to each program separately. I kept yelling "that's a feature, not a bug." I don't have some of the programs, and I have different passwords for email versus others.

I've had an Apple product update, locking me out of what I was doing, with no warning and no way to stop it short of shutting the system down. At least 10 didn't do that. Plus, no involuntary U2.
