((but its so fun))'> Max: *Walking swiftly from the Big Top's cafeteria, with a glass filled with ice water in his hand, Max returns to the lodging building before making his way to Regina's bedroom door. After a few soft knocks (he doesn't want to hurt her poor head anymore), he waits for a reply.*
Regina: *is sprawled out on her bed in her pink-and-gold room, a sparkly silver pillow over her head. She has been here for the better part of the day, feeling sick for a reason she's not entirely sure of. The knocks sound like an elephant stampede (normally a sound she would actually love), and she gives a small cry* Ow! Max, is that you?
Max: *Hearing her small cry, he frowns and opens the door, peeking his head into the room.* Of course it's me, sweetie. Can I come in?
Regina: *tries to sit up, but her head throbs painfully. Instead, she kind of slumps near the wall, struggling* Y-yes! *she tries not to sound out of breath or look tearful-- but her head hurts so much*
Max: *Quickly opening the door wider, he strides into the room, not even bothering to shut it behind him. It is a nice day after all and it's not like any visitors would be wandering around the circus at this hour. He steps closer to her before sitting on the edge of her bed. He holds out the cup of water to her.* S-sweetie pie! You poor thing… Here, drink up!
Regina: *sits up, pushing the pillow aside. Her makeup is smeared, and her hair has begun to come out of its carefully curled style on top of her head. She reaches out for the glass, her lower lip trembling* Thanks, Maxie. *she takes a sip, trying not to do anything silly like cry or complain*
Max: *Reaches out, placing a hand on her shoulder gently while she takes a drink, watching her patiently. Regina never complains so he can't imagine how much her head must hurt.* Is it just your head, sweetie?
Regina: Um... I think so... My stomach a little, too, before, but mostly I'm just very tired... *she turns her face up to his and smiles at his touch on her shoulder* You're so nice, Max.
Max: *Smiles at her, squeezing her shoulder.* Anything for my fabulous sweetie pie princess! You know Max is here to take care of you.
Regina: Oh... *she smiles now, widely, but that particular motion of her face causes a new stab of pain in her head* ...Owww... I don't think... I don't think I should drink any more of that stuff...
Max: *Frowns again as he reaches up to brush a stray blonde lock of hair out of her face.* I completely agree! Coffee is for people who don't have our fabulous energy in the morning and just need a little...boost! We don't need help in being fabulous! Does that make sense, sweetie?
Regina: Oh? *looks thoughtful for a moment, placing a finger to her lips* I-I guess so...! But it was so fun! I would almost say... fabulous! A-and... Trilo said adults drink it. So I think I should, too. I wonder if all adults walk around with a headache like this all the time? It's not fun at all! It's- it's unfabulous! *she looks up into his eyes, frowning slightly* You don't drink that, do you, Max? I read that you can put milk in it. Does it make the milk better?
Max: Well...*Casually flips around a card he pulled from what appears to be nowhere.* ...Probably not. Milk is always the best by itself! Don't you think so?
Regina: Oh, yes, Max, of course! I like milk! Not as much as you but- *she winces a moment, touching a hand to her head* Ooh. I should take a walk, or something...
Max: *As she winces, his hand goes to her shoulder again.* Sweetie...Maybe you should lay down again and I'll bring you up dinner later. *Smiles.* It would just be a nice dinner for the two of us. Like another date!
Regina: *her eyes go wide momentarily* Oh- um! You don't have to do that! Not, as, um- *she blushes* A date? In my room? Really?
Max: Of course, sweetie! I think that would make for an absolutely fabulous evening!
Regina: M-me too! *her blush grows a bit deeper* Oh, that... That makes me feel much better!
Max: *Smiling wider, he removes the hand from her shoulder and pulls out another playing card before handing it to her and standing up.* Fabulous!! Then you just rest here, sweetie and I'll be back in a little while, okay?
Regina: *she takes the card from him with a big smile, reaching a hand up to re-arrange her hair* O-okay! I can't wait! This is so nice of you, Max. A date...! I'll make myself really pretty and it'll be so fun!
Max: *Chuckling, he smiles wider, smoothing his jacket down.* Make sure you get a lot of rest first though, sweetie! I'll be back soon. Ciao! *And with that, he gives her a small wave and strides out the open door, closing it softly behind him.*
Regina: *smiles and waves after him when he goes, suddenly feeling a great deal better. She watches the door close and then rearranges the pillow neatly on her bed. She glances down at the card in her hand when she's done as though she's just remembered that it's there.*
Regina: *it's the Ace of Hearts. Regina's eyes widen briefly in wonder, and then a fond look comes over her face, and she brings the card to herself to hold it against her heart* ...
