On Monday we went to Sea World. I'd gotten some really cheap tickets months ago and being the incredible hermits we are (as if we weren't already hermits, getting an Xbox for Christmas just did us in) we never did go during the coolest months. Suddenly it was like, SPRING BREAK IS COMING! AND THEN HEAT! We must use the tickets ( Read more... )

OMG, you smart investor you! Where did you buy in? My husband has been bugging me to let him trade online and I'm kinda scared...

And 10K in one week is awesome. A little staring can't hurt! You've certainly made enough progress so far!

I have TD Ameritrade. It's $10 a trade. I've had it for years so there have been some other cheaper online brokerages popping up since, but...I've never had any problems with TD Ameritrade at least, and I can answer at least basic questions about how to use the site. Let me know if you do sign up because I could get a bonus for referring you! I was really terrified of the whole thing when I signed up...wish I'd been a little more aggressive. I invested less than $1000 of my Magic Under Glass advance. The market was SO bottomed out then. It's worth about $2500 two years later, not including this week's Apple perk!

Thanks! I will let you know when/if we do. To hear of your success with it makes me feel a little better giving my husband the go-ahead. I think it's a smart money move if you know what you're doing and using a site you trust. So maybe I'll have to chat with Joe about it!

Yeah, it might be cheaper at Etrade or Scottrade or something but if you do go for TDA... I think it can be smart too. It feels a little more volatile at the moment with gas going up and the middle east stuff, but I think it's definitely worth learning something about the market. I'm still a total newbie really... but Dade is really good at picking stocks!!
