My initial main reason for making this entry is so I can make a "tights" tag for my reference next year. Every year I want to buy some new tights when they go 75% off at Target (or wherever, but Target usually has the cheapest/best colors) and every year I can't remember when to check. I don't go to Target but every couple months, so it's easy to ( Read more... )

I so enjoy hearing snippets of your life, Jackie. :) I tried to Amazon book selling once (I'm no good at it), but it's neat to hear of your successes! DH and I talk now and then about starting a garden, but we have yet to do it. I also don't know anything about it (nor does DH -- though all our parents had vegetable gardens when we were kids). I hope you share what you learn. :)

I will try to keep updated! I get very triumphant when things actually grow so I probably will talk about it a lot. I also come from rather a long line of gardeners, actually...but I am CLUELESS. In Florida I hated being outside so I never paid attention. I barely know what mulch is. =P

This year I will do that!

Should I send you a mushroom now!? I have like 4 mushrooms in the jar now...I'm about to bottle my 5th batch! But I need another jar. I want to brew it longer but I'm too impatient with only one jar going...

I have never heard of Mike the Gardener, and I already bought bunches of seeds, but I'm tempted to ask you for a referral code. Hmmm... hmmm....

My referral code is: LE1KZZQ7MV should you decide to go for it. I haven't gotten a chance to try the seeds yet since I joined in fall, but I love the idea: for like, $3 a month you get 8 packs of seeds your first month and 4 packs a month thereafter. GMO-free, heirloom (though no terrifically quirky varieties, at least so far, though I do have some things like amaranth and salsify that are a bit offbeat). The idea of the site was to make quality seeds cheap enough that anyone could grow their own fruits and veggies. (At least, theoretically...)

Oh, and I think when I signed up there was a coupon code floating around, so you could look for that and it might be even cheaper...

So happy you're happy! This life seems to suit you so well. I'm glad it's getting better and better. Here's hoping this year's garden does splendidly.
