Arthur cleared his throat as he rang the doorbell.
“Yes?” The door was opened an inch, one brown eye peering at him over the security chain.
“Hi Ma’am, I’m the electrician you called, you’re having an issue with your thermostat?”
“Oh yes, please come in.” She closed the door and opened it again to let him through.
“Whoa.” The heat assaulted him the moment he stepped foot inside.
“Yes, I know. I’ve had to strip down to the bare minimum to avoid burning up.”
He didn’t understand what she meant until he looked at her. She was wearing a white tank top and a tiny pair of black shorts. Oh, Lord. He wasn’t sure he would make it through this intervention without popping an erection.
“Uh, can you show me where the thermostat is?”
“It’s in my bedroom, this way.” She strolled past him and he took in the sight of her curves from behind, gulping. She had a luscious ass, one he wouldn’t mind getting more acquainted with. He shook his head to clear his thoughts, cursing the sudden tightening in his pants. He really needed to get laid, and soon.
“I don’t know what went wrong, it was working fine on Tuesday. I wanted to turn it up just a little and it stopped working entirely.” She explained sheepishly.
He chuckled. “That happens sometimes. Let me see what we have here.” He put his tool kit on the ground, then bent over, rooting through it for the screwdriver. When he straightened up, Gwen was giving him an appreciative look and she blushed when she realized she’d been caught. Well, well, seemed he wasn’t the only one feeling horny. He concentrated on unscrewing the cover, setting it aside for the moment; the problem was apparent as soon as he saw the wires. “That explains things.”
“What is it?”
He showed her. “One of the wires coming from the transformer is corroded, so it doesn’t connect to the contacts properly. It’s an easy fix.”
“Oh, thank God.” She passed a hand over her neck and collarbone, wiping the beads of sweat who’d gathered there. “I feared I’d start melting if I had to spend another night in this sweltering heat.”
“Why, are you made of sugar?” The sentence flew out of his mouth before he could think twice about it.
She giggled, clearly surprised but recovering well. “I’ve been told that I taste just as sweet.”
“I don’t doubt it.” He licked his lips, her eyes following the movement, before he turned back to the task at end, removing the wire and wiping it clean.
“I didn’t catch your name.”
“I’m Arthur.” He stripped the wire, cut off a short portion and reconnected it to the contact.
“Gwen.” She smiled and he took his eyes off the thermostat apparatus for a second to reciprocate.
“Nice to meet you.”
“Likewise.” Her voice had a definitely huskier tone now and she took a step closer to him.
He wasn’t sure how he put the screws on properly under the look she was directing at him. “All done.”
“Thank you.” She stepped even closer now, close enough that she’d be feeling his burgeoning erection very soon. “How could I ever express my gratitude?” Her eyes flicked from his eyes to his lips.
He leaned into her space. “I am sure that you can think off a few ways. Off the record, of course.”
She tilted her head back, her lips curving into a sensual smile. “I was hoping you would say that.”
