Fic: Sacrifice Fly

Apr 03, 2012 21:26

title: Sacrifice Fly
rating: PG
word count: ~2,000
summary: It's the second to last day of spring training and Kurt's future is on the line.
author's note: Takes place in my Wait for Spring 'verse.  This really won't make sense if you haven't read that.  Basic baseball knowledge would be good in order to understand this, but it's not really necessary.

I love this verse. And it just in time for... well not technically opening but it's being billed that way. I love that Kurt made it first. Really hope that you might write a bit (drabble maybe) about the reactions of an openly gay player in the club house. Cause unless I missed something MLB hasn't broken the rainbow ceiling

Not quite opening day yet, but I saw a commercial for Fox's Saturday baseball game with the announcer saying, "this week" and I almost screamed. Baseball is soooo close!

I actually want to write more than a drabble dealing with gay men in MLB. It would be full of angst, though, and at the moment Wait For Spring is my happy place. I'll definitely write it, though, one day.

Yeah, they are playing tonight. But it's only that one game. Tomorrow is really Opening Day, at least for me. :)

Wow, thank you so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying it!

And I'm glad someone got my Zito joke. It really makes me sad though because Zito on the A's was one of my favorite players.

Aw, it was so sweet. Even if I really understand nothing about baseball and how it works, I'm still glad for Kurt.

Thank you for giving this a shot, even if you don't know too much about baseball. :)

OMG, I'm so happy it's baseball season. And I'm super excited for Kurt, playing for the Giants is amazing, even if it hurts my soul as a Rockies fan to say that, lol. I hope you write more in this 'verse. ^_^

I can't believe baseball starts tonight! AAAHHH. I'm a little exited, can you tell?

One of my friends on Tumblr suggested that they got drafted to rival teams and I loved that idea. Since writing about Kurt or Blaine as a Yankee would kill my soul, I decided on Giants/Dodgers.

I don't know why, but I always feel some sort of shame when admitting that the Yankees are the team I follow in the American League. But I'm blame my dad, since we always listened to Yankees games on the radio before the Rockies even existed. Derek Jeter is kind of the reason I became a baseball fan, it was just so exciting listening to them play.

I actually also love the idea of them being on rival teams. I also like the idea of them being on, you know, successful teams. I may love the Rockies, and hope springs eternal, but there are years I wouldn't wish a place on their roster on my worst enemy, lol.

Baseball and Klaine. These are the only things I need in my life! Great job!
