Paul, if you didn't see tonight's episode of the Office, don't read ANYTHING about it. Don't look at a thread, don't bring it up at work, don't do anything that might reveal a single moment or punchline. It was the best 22 minutes of television since the second season of Arrested Development, and it's gonna fucking pummel you.

tell me this, while we're on the subject of tv:

is the "american" version of the office the british show being played on american networks? or is it something different entirely?

because i've seen the first season of the really british version and enjoyed it and i'd probably watch the second season if it's that highly recommended, but not if we're talking about two entirely different shows!

i guess i could google this but i already wrote up the comment so hey. :[

oh, i wasn't saying anything about there not being any good tv. there certainly is. overall, though, i personally don't get much out of tv. it doesn't appeal to me very much. even shows i like, i have to watch them in very small doses, spread out across time.

thanks for the info about the office! it actually sounds more interesting than an entirely different show (with the same exact name) would be, because you get to see two different casts play off of a similar original idea... which is always a good time.

i downloaded it off iTunes just now. While at work (at an office, if you will) I remembered that I forgot to watch it last night. Then I saw that you posted here, and the episode was called "the secret" and I kept thinking of the various outcomes, and was way off. Very good episode from a very good tv show.
