It finally happened.

After a year and a half of being in a nice, comfortable Verdi baritone place, John told me today that we are going to explore the tenor issue again, and I'm going to be a Heldentenor. Which is cool but scary. So now I'm learning Wagner. This is weird.

Well, pending working out a potential conflict involving a wedding, I am performing the role of the Wigmaker in Ariadne auf Naxos. This role involves about 6 bars of singing, although, man does Strauss manage to fit a lot of notes into those six bars. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but, hey, it's a role.
