I almost didn't bring my digital camera to the Less than Jake show Friday night and I'm sooooo glad that I did.

Next time I go to one, you should come with me. It's usually just Dennis and I, but he didn't feel up to it Friday.

Less than Jake are so awesome live. They play great and shoot crazy things into the crowd. At Warped, they blew toilet paper into the crowd with some sort of leaf blower device and they shot shirts to fans.

Last night, there was tons of confetti shot at us. Haha. They're were cool because they really didn't want to leave. And you know they've got to be tired. They've been playing almost every night since the summer began. They won't be done with touring until Nov., I believe. Anyway, Less than Jake plays in FL a lot (of course, since they're from Gainsville) so, we should be able to see them live in the near future.

I haven't heard of any good shows coming up lately. Have you?

I'm kind of bummed about that. When I first moved here three years ago, shows were a lot more common in Jacksonville. Now most good bands hate playing here.

I found out about shows mostly from my favortite bands website or from the Folio Weekly. I also look at venues' websites like the Freebird, Plush, or Thee Imperial. I sometimes get e-mails from the bands themselves so I find out about shows before anyone else does and get cheaper, pre-sale tickets. That happened with Alkaline Trio. I also got Reel Big Fish VIP tickets and got to meet the band by checking the website and buying the tickets online really early. Dennis and I got signed copies of "Our Live Album is Better than Your Live Album" through the VIP hook-up as well.

Sign up for some of your favorite bands' mailing lists. You'll find out about upcoming shows that way, even before the bands begin their tour.

Thanks. I had tons... of drunken-ness around me, smoke in my face, and ringing in my ears that lasted hours, but it was all worth it.

I had a 30-year-old drunk guy come up to me asking what a mosh pit was. That was...interesting. I also saw a semi-buzzed guy drop a VERY-drunk girl that obviously couldn't hold herself up, and she hit her head on a flight of stairs.
