Lovers alone wear sunlight, Kaka/Sheva

Colours. The first thing that hits him are the colours.

An intense, yet powdery blue
forming a gigantic bubble - of sky, endless, flawlessly rounded, stretched out from horizon to horizon; Looking up was like falling down, or more, falling upwards, being sucked into this unbelievable depth -

The blinding yellow
of the sun, they were both squinting, shading their eyes with their hands to see where they’re walking, the blades of wheat were grazing their legs, stubbles twinging their bare feet, only the wind eased the heat -

he knows in his life he has never seen this place

a small, sweaty hand, searching for his as they were walking side by side

and he never manages to recall a word he said

only remembers Andriys smiling eyes, the way their hands melted together, and the blinding sun, the waves of dusty wheat, of yellow -

And later - the full-bodied, dark green of leaves
that finally delimited the sky, now looking up meant to rest, back against the bark, sheltered under a voluminous treetop.
A twelve year old Andriy, nibbling on a blade of grass and grinning at the same time, would gaze at him intently, would lift a hand and brush some whisps of hair out of Ricardos (little Ricky Kaká) eyes, would nod at his work and then pick up another blade of grass and make horrible noises on it that he could never hear and
still the sky would widen a little more
he would join in, plucking at grass and flowers and flipping a beetle from his knee -

this overwhelming feeling of peace

- and then wake up to birdsong and to white walls and, behind the curtains, a hint of soft yellow clouds.

And everything, just everything is so, so incredibly different.
