Be Proud, Andre!

I heard one! I finally heard a U2 song, Andre; be happy. I was driving with my mom (yes, I was the one driving), "Vertigo" came on the radio. Truly, I understand your obsession now; they're special, and have an EXCELLENT sound. Although, you must forgive me for not being obsessive. And for taking so incredibly long to actually listen to one of ( Read more... )

I'm proud, darling. I think you need their music. Go get All That You Can't Leave Behind, because it quite seriously saved my life.

I might just do that. But in order to do that, it will require a trip to Walmart...

Oooh!! Though Vertigo is only scratching the surface of what U2 can do. I say Where The Streets Have No Name is quite easily the best epic rock song ever made.

I'm tempted to upload some stuff for you. How'd you like that?

(And I'd recommend an album to buy ... but when I narrow things down, I'm still stuck with five! The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Best Of 1980-1990, Best Of 1990-2000, and How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.)

I uploaded one song anyway.

Where The Streets Have No Name from 30 December 1989, Dublin.

I honestly cannot remember what it is that Bono is quoting during the intro, but this performance is one of my three favourites of Streets, along with 18 and 26 December 1989.

If you want any more, I am always more than happy to upload.

Thank you! I will listen to it once it downloads, but our computer is rather slow. I hate dial-up.

I was digging through the music in our family room, which is mostly just my parents' music, but I found "The Joshua Tree" - I think it is actually one of my sister's CD's ... she has several. I'll look through them when she comes home next week for Christmas break, and perhaps burn a couple. If our CD burner will actually WORK, that is; it's been acting up.

You can upload more if you like, but you don't have to. Only if you really want to!

Ugh, you are still stuck on the scum of dial-up? You poor child! Well, hopefully you've heard it now. What do you think?

Ooooh, The Joshua Tree! That and Achtung Baby are considered to be U2's two masterpieces by most people. I say The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, and the newly released How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb are their three best. Incidentally, I consider All That You Can't Leave Behind to easily be their worst album (I cannot fathom why Wild Honey made the album but Flower Child and Summer Rain did not), but still miles better than most of what else is made in the music world.

I'll upload some more stuff soon ... I'll try to do a variety of stuff, to demonstrate U2's versatility. I would love to find someone who has never even heard of the band (ha, is that even possible?), just so I can play Van Diemen's Land, I Will Follow, and Lemon for them and see if they think it's three separate groups or the same band. Hmm, may just upload all of those for you!
