I'm looking for medical scifi, either in novel or short story.  Anyone know any? cuz I don't.

Do you mean something like Andromeda Strain?

Possibly. I'm not really sure exactly what I'm looking for, in truth.

Andromeda came into my head first, as well.

There are also other options such as Outbreak.

Not really sure what you mean, but Satan Bug is a damn fine medical thriller. Prey's got nanotech and it scared the crap out of me, but was an enjoyable summer read.

James White did a number of "ER in space" novels that have been reissued as twofer trade PBs.

S.L. Viehl writes SF/medical thriller type novels under the "Stardoc" series name.

I'm sure there are others, or you could try this instead -- it's plenty surreal, it's just not fiction.

Oooh, yes, I loved the few James White's I've been able to read (one book and a short story collection). Definitely someone I would read again if I found something by him.

The ones I have are fairly recent reprints by Orb, so you should be able to Amazon them. Good luck!

you might try fanfiction.net, and look for fanfiction based on, say, Star Trek, or Michael Crichton, or ER, or the like. it might not be GOOD fiction, but it's free, which isn't a bad deal... if you're up to sloughing through a lot of trash to find the gems.
