seeing inside the soul

Sensual poetry influenced by the senses is a way to also express the nature around us in relation to our feeelings. Sensations that arise from the body permeate to the soul and change one's perceptions. The way White wrote in Riders in The chariot was descriptive of the senses in vivid characters that allow the reader to sense the sorrow and pain of the lives of the Riders. I especially liked the way Alf Dubbo uses his senses as an artist ans Miss Hare in in touch with her senses, especiallly the sense of touch. Himmlefarb with the sight and hearing of the words of the Torah and the the things he sees beyond the physicality of man. For example, he instinctively sensed the true religion of Mr Rosetree. This showa that he is true to his feelings and in touch with the senses. White, like Blake, is also preoccupied with explaining the inner senses of the human. The senses that allow humans to feel, touch, taste, see and hear without the fear of consequences, just because they want to be free and experience life as it was intended-unashamedly sensual and beautiful, especially if one experiences love and resiprocates it.

SIGHT

Back in the mind

away from the periphery

and near the haze of

eternal darkness

that is blinding

the sense

of my reality.

I see yet shadows

adorn the picture

of serene shores

and mountains

fade into

the watery recesses

behind the glaze

I watch the tower

of everlasting strength

crumble and give

way to the

illusion

of the

love

I have for you.
