I was sorry I had missed this! and empathise so much! Its dreadful being accused and being innocent.
Great story, glad you were saved.

I was working in a chemist and was being 'watched' all the time by some of the staff, especially when I was on the till. Or going to the stock room. I felt uneasy but knew I had done nothing. I was whispered about and not talked to. Two of us had started at the same time. after a month of hell they discovered the other girl was stealing from the till and taking slimming goods. I never forgot the feeling though, and as I often had to lock up alone I was very worried. How could I have proved I was innocent? Of course then I did the stupid thing didn't close the door properly, got a call from the police to say a customer wanted to be served! he had just walked in and waited. I didn't get the sack.

I think I reacted in such a way because my mom was actually fired from one of her jobs for stealing her prescription. My mom suffers from a sleeping disorder, and without her prescription drugs she can't function like a normal person. She walked out of the store at the end of her shift without paying for her prescription because she forgot. It was an honest mistake, but it was an honest mistake that got her fired.
