I have never had a more terrifying experience at a concert in my life.

Everything went fine. Outside, fine. In the club, fine.

Jared came out with roses....looked to us up in the balcony, and then figured it probably wouldn't make it if he threw one up there.

One song in, fine.

Then they did Buddha For Mary....one of my favorites....and it all went to shit.

Jared went out and crowd walked, which was awesome let me tell you. One security guards moved up, poised for Jared's return, and telling this photographer to back up. On the other side, the other guard was at the edge of the pit, just watching. There was another photographer on that side as well.

Now, from front row accounts, this is what went down. The other security guard finally came over, but left the other photographer standing there. So, Jared gets close to the front, and goes into a crowd surfing position to be taken back over the barrier. The girls up there had a loose hold on him, until they realized security was no where near him to be able to catch him when he went over. They grabbed his legs and his shirt and held on for dear life....but the people behind them kept pushing him forward, not seeing what was happening beyond the barrier. The momentum caused Jared to go over the barrier in a sort of tumble (so his head ended up facing the crowd again). The guard on the left of the stage, managed to grab his arm as he went, but the guard on the right of the stage had to push the photographer out of the way....not reaching Jared until he was already on the ground.

My heart skipped about 10 beats. Then he stood up, pushed away the guard behind him, and rushed the security guard from the right of the stage. He pushed him as he climbed back up on the stage, shouting, "You were supposed to catch me, mother fucker"....and then, essentially, punched him in the head. He was pulled away by their videographer further onto the stage. He walked in a wide circle around the stage and went over and shouted at the girl photographer, who was still standing around. He motioned to the security guard to get her out of there. He got his guitar back on and came to the front. Seeing the girl still standing at the edge of the pit, he jumped off the stage and stormed over to her and the guard. When he got back up on stage, she was nowhere to be seen.

He finished the song and went to the amp where his water bottle was and took a drink. Shannon, still playing, mouthed "Are you ok?" twice to him. Jared shook his head and walked from the stage. I saw him standing off the stage, half hidden by their gear, his back turned to the crowd side. Shannon stood up, walked around his kit and walked off after him. He was standing behind him, talking calmly. Jared moved away, off to the side. Shannon turned and pointed in front of him and rushed away (presumably after that guard). Someone grabbed him and made him go back up on stage. Jared rejoined them a moment or two later.

I've never been so afraid, saddened, and awed in my life. I was up on the balcony crying from the moment he stood up. I was in shock. And then when Shannon left the stage after him, I was screaming at the security guard below me, and silently begging Shannon to let it go. I've read how he can get when people mess with Jared.

And that's where the awe comes in. As scary as it was....to see the bond between them in action. It was beautiful and heart-wrenching, and just plain sweet.

But besides that, it was an awesome show.

I met Shannon, Jared, and Tomo this time around.

The asshole "security guard" told us we couldn't stand on the sidewalk by the bus. Then he implied that the guys wouldn't come out....to which I replied:

"So you're telling me that they'll just walk by and get on that bus and ignore us?"
Security: "So far, yes."
"Well, you've got another thing coming, man."

I parked the car right by the fence so I could spy on everything. Considering he told us to move and no one did. :)

He said to a kid that they had to stand behind this light pole now. So I hopped out of the car and walked up to the pole with the other kids. Then I looked across the street and saw Shannon. I made my way across the street, and saw he had his small camera with him. But the look on his face told me he really didn't want to be out there. So, I'm standing back, just looking around, waiting my turn. When I hear someone giggle near me. It was a girl beside me, looking ahead of me. I look forward and Shannon is walking towards me, squinting at my shirt. So I swung my dog-tags aside and he held up the camera, zooming in.

Shannon: "Thank you, cutie." *takes the picture*
Me: "Oh, there's more on the back" *turns around*
Shannon: "Very nice." *takes another picture, which I fuck up by turning around too quick, so he has to do another one* "Thank you, sweetie."
Me: *just smiles at him*
Shannon: *stares....then smiles. recognition acquired*

So he walks off to take pictures of more people and with people, who had started to call for him. I wait again. And some asshole staff guy stands right in front of me. So I ask him to move and he doesn't. So I tap him on the shoulder. Nothing. So I meet Shannon's gaze.

Shannon: "Did you want a picture?"
Me: "Yeah." *glances at the staff guy*
Shannon: *glares at staff guy*
Staff guy: *finally moves*
Shannon: *pulls me in close for the picture*
Mom: *takes the picture*
Me: "Is Jared ok?"
Shannon: *nods slowly*
Me: "Good. That was pretty terrifying." *pauses as Shannon stares and hand lingers on my shoulder* "Thanks again."
Shannon: *gives my shoulder a squeeze* "Thank you, baby."

*squee* Is it sad that I made the shirt as an excuse to talk to Shannon? As my mom told me in TN, "You're in love....that's so cute!" *rolls eyes*

Shan was tired....and you could tell he was still worried/pissed about, what we termed on the board, The Incident. He was still nice to everyone....just a little distracted.

Matt came out....peeped at the group of us across the street and went to come over....then noticed the mass of people in front of him and went to him. When I and the group of girls next to me walked across the street (after about 10 minutes of signings and pics), he said he had to go and disappeared. I was so mad. But....he looked wiped too. So I'll let him slide....just this once.

Then we wait. And wait. And out comes Jared. We all just bolted across the street....not wanting to have another incident like Matt's. Then he speaks.

"I'll say it now. I will take pictures with each and every one of you tonight, ok? So should we do this? A line?"

Echelon approves.

"I'm not really a line kind of person. How about we all just move in a little. That's good. You guys are all so calm, this is great."

*me snorts* *is not noticed....yet*

Other Random Jared Quotes:

"Girls on the bus. That's just bad. It's just trouble. Only boys on the bus."

*me looks at the girl next to me....we both crack up* *plot bunnies stir*

"Tomo is in the shower. And we should all applaud him for that. Yeah, they have a private shower upstairs. That is not a shower you want to take."

"Thanks. These are my clogs. You can't knock the clogs."

When asked about an East Coast Kill Ball : "It's in the works. We did the one in LA, and the Midwest Edition is coming up. Look for something to happen in the fall."

FUCKING RIGHT WE GET A BALL! And it'll be nicer out so I can wear my dress. *squee*

So he starts with the row in front of him and makes his way back. I let the girls who were beside me across the street go first when the time comes....I love to people watch and Jared is a constant source of amusement, let me tell you. This would be when he noticed me.

He tried walking over to me three times before I actually got my picture....I think he was trying to read my shirt....that and I was in fits of giggles every few minutes. He was awesome.

Someone told him "nice shoes"....which they so weren't....they were like silver plastic clog....things. So he made a joke about how you can't diss his clogs. He saw my mom laugh and winked at her.

She's set for life. :)

So he motions me over, and I am able to walk. This is how it went down.

Jared: "The Keepers of the Gate...."
Me: "I tried....it kind of-"
Jared: "I like it."
Me: *stands beside him with nothing to say*
Jared: *puts arm around my shoulders and rests his other hand on my right arm* *leans his head against mine*
Mom: *snaps the picture*
Me: "Thank you so much."
Jared: "Of course."
Me: *points to Mom* "Can she get one too?"
Jared: "Sure." *motions Mom over*
Me: *snaps picture* "Thanks again."
Jared: "Thank you."

The aftermath was my hand shaking slightly. After I looked at the picture of course. *melts*

Then....out comes Tomo. And he's so sweet and letting the Croatian fly every so often. When I went up for my picture, he threw his arm around me so tightly that I jumped a little. I like Tomo....he's squishy. :D

I hear Jared talking very near us and look to my right and see him watching me getting my picture taken.

Now....word to the new....Jared will act perfectly normal, until whoever is taking the picture presses down the button. He knows after that, whatever he does will be captured and you can't do anything about it.

So, he's standing next to us, and I feel Tomo glance at him. Then Mom's ready to take the picture. So he looks ahead again, and apparently, Jared was waiting for my mom to take the picture. Because he's walking through the background of my picture. *rolls eyes* He is such a noob!

But yeah, I'm practically in Tomo's side. I wonder if it's weird for Tomo to do the pics and autographs....considering he was a fan at one time....just like us. He seems perfectly comfortable getting the pics....at the signings though, he kind of ignores everyone.

Then, we went home.

Two sets there. Anything with a 'k' is mine from the Kodak. Anything with a 'C' is Mom's from the Cannon.
