So...my cough is not completely completely gone, but it's definitely not chronic anymore. It's controlled with medication, diet, exercise, breathing exercises, and a supreme force of will. I'm still allergic to cigarette smoke (I still have vocal cord dysfunction), but breathing in a particular way (thank you speech pathologist) and being exceedingly good at controlling my emotions means that my vocal cords don't block off as much air and I can even be around smokers who aren't actively smoking for short periods of time. It really is mostly willpower, because controlling one's vocal cords is exceedingly difficult. That's why it took me 10 years!
I'm pretty much in consensus with the last two. So glad to hear your cough is gone!
Mmm, I miss smelling those soups.
I hope you weren't like me two years ago with the whole kids thing. Because I'm fairly determined not to have them and fairly certain I won't change my mind about that... but when I say things like that people always get all "knowing."
I'm sad to hear you don't write poetry anymore. I really hope my job doesn't keep me from writing... so far it doesn't really help. I mean, yeah I'm writing articles but they don't fulfill the same thing...
