There's been a lot of talk about sewing recently, and since I'm supposed to be doing homework I really don't want to be doing, I think it's a good time to join in ( Read more... )

Just please tell me you're not going to shave your head...

Speaking of priestess costumes, while the miniseries butchered her book, I always thought the priestesses outfits from Sci-fi's "Earthsea" were AMAZING.

Absolutely no head shaving! :)

Those costumes are really cool. You know, I've never seen the Earthsea miniseries.

MY GODDESS ABBY THAT'S A LOT OF PLEATS!
:-)
I can't decide what to do for Halloween. I thought this year I wanted to do something where Roy's costume and mine were related in theme somehow. One thought was that he'd be an Indian snakecharmer and I'd be the snake. ;-) Unfortunately, I don't have enough colorful cloth to dress up Roy.

Your idea seems lovely! *sigh* I wish I had more time and money to put into sewing and dying projects.
Oh, and the green-dyed dresses and tops turned out beautifully! Sooner or later our Japan trip pictures will be posted somewhere, and then I'll point you to the one with me in my new dress.

Oh, you would be a marvelous snake! Could the place in the building by the Saturday Market supplement your own stash of colorful cloth cheaply enough to be worth it?

I only barely have the time and money, which I think is another factor in my Halloween costumes never being quite appropriate. My time and money are so valuable to me that if I'm going to spend them on something, it's going to be something I can wear pretty regularly. (This dress will go into the stash of ritual clothes, and it can be worn a few different ways. The bodice will also be reversible so it can fit in with my tiny collection of club clothes, which is also made mostly of multi-tasking clothes.)

I can't wait to see your Japan pics!
