Halloween Costume Progress

I spent almost all of yesterday dyeing the fabric for my Halloween costume. I got all the stuff for the dress proper dyed, and it came out *perfectly.* I'm so pleased. I really nailed the woad-like colors, and the gradient is exactly what I wanted. I'll definitely be using this method for gradient-type stuff in the future. Here's what I have ( Read more... )

Thanks! On my last quest for them, I gave up when they weren't with the regular cable ties. Clearly I underestimated the sneaky.

Thanks! You were in my thoughts a lot as I was working on this--figuring out doing the gradient, having the blue parts of the dye spread more than the black, getting a nice, even black on silk noil. A lot of the stuff I've thought about at your request served me well. :)
