[wedding] dress ideas

I went into this not really caring one way or the other about making my dress. I don't have to, but I'm not refusing to, either.

that dress is gorgeous, and you'll look lovely in it - I certainly agree that making it yourself makes the most sense, between expenditure and timeline.

I actually don't have any projects in the works right now. *gasp* So I may even be able to get started with making the pattern now. I'm not sure if I can actually accomplish something this far in advance, though....

Oh, that's beautiful.

As for dark blue flowers - I've had muscari earmarked for wedding flowers for a long time - they coem in all sorts of shades from "grape" to "indigo" and some are a very deep dark blue.

Fort Bragg in California is lovely. It's a small, forested town on the rocky northern California coast. My aunt and uncle live there, and I love it. They got married in a park there about 10 years ago, and it was SUCH a beautiful wedding. The wedding took place in a little clearning in the middle of the redwoods. It was a foggy day, and when my aunt walked out from behind the trees into the clearning it looked like something out of a fairy tale.

Like I said, not really on topic, but your post made me think of it. I don't know what your Fort Bragg is like, but I agree, it's probably very different. :)

It sounds like the kinds of place that would have a specialty fabric that carries lots of sustainably produced fabric.

Our Fort Bragg is the military base in Fayetteville, so yeah, very different.

Also worth noting that Fort Bragg, CA was the southern-most Russian settlement on the west coast. Elementary school students often do an over night field trip to the actual fort to see what life was like for the Russian settlers. So yeah, very different.

But to the point, I love the bridesmaid dress design, and I can't think of any body type that doesn't look good in a well made halter dress. I can't get the website with the wedding dress you love to load at work, but I'm not giving up.

Cool about Fort Bragg. I love the state history facts people learn in grade school!

I'm glad you like the dress design. You may be wearing one. (Aaron and I are still figuring out how we want to handle our mixed-gender parties.)
