So Nick faeshale and I are moving before the end of this month into the house of Fritter fritterfae and JD dmlaenker to cut on costs and the fact we spend a fair amount of our time there anyway. On the tv shows like clean sweep they always have to deal with those mementos of childhood, college, having children, clubs, etc. Their whole thing about it is that if you have the memories you don't need to have the stuff. If you want to keep the stuff you have to sacrifice something else to keep it or you have to put it in a prominent place to highlight it. If you feel like you absolutely have to have it, then keep it, put it into storage even. But what good does it do to have something in storage that you're never going to see, never going to use except to remind you of something you already remember

Awww... I'm sure you'll come to terms with the 'weeding' of your possessions. It's a wickedly difficult thing to do. But it's nice that you have the 'togetherness' agenda to console you :)

Between the ages of 18 and 27 I moved eight times. It's only here in D.C. that I've come to rest, living in this same apartment from age 33 to present. Another 3 years and I'll have lived here longer than the house I grew up in. Yikes.
