They are pretty new, I'm pretty excited about them! they blend so nicely and I heard they are great with other materials, so exploring them will be fun:)...maybe something new for you to try Ellen???:)
oh no! thanks for the heads up...yeah it's a BIG learning process, but I think it's one reason why I bought them, I really wanted to try something different and these are it! you should break them out again:) I want to see your paintings with them:) it's nice to know someone else who has them. I will try the brushes, I'm gonna go look into something thats as small as a pencil for fine detail...if I find anything I'll let you know.
It's actually all dry, they are all pastels(kinda like chalk but very velvety and creamy...just not wet...kind of like really nice eyeshadow)Anyways, they usually come in sticks, this is pretty new, only a few years old I think and much more like painting but it blends like a dream. I was using them and thought of you, the colours are so vibrant and blending is so nice I thought it would be something you'd like:) you can use the tools that are made for them and lots of sponges to block really large areas of colour and when you need to clean it you just wipe on a paper towel. It's fun,I'm going to try using it with my brushes, I'll let you know how it goes:) heres there website if you want to know a bit more, I'm horrible at explaining things:) http://www.panpastel.com/ Have a great weekend hun!
thanks for that, looks cool! might give it a try sometime. I've seen a few pretty cool childrens book illustrations done in pastels and another artist who does incredible work in this medium. i'll try and find this artist and show you :)
