A bit tense at first and then reasuranse and sweetness in the end.
And underneath the tense I felt the love... *happysigh*

This was written a year ago? How in the world did I miss it? I'm always on the lookout for Ronon stories like this.

Anyway, I really liked the quiet intimacy of it and the way Ronon is trying to figure out how to act and how to interpret their relationship. In general, he seems pretty secure, but you made it plausible that he could have this moment of vulnerability. I also liked how John kept anticipating his questions. Despite the difficulties, I felt the closeness between them and the caring.

Personally, I prefer serious or semi-serious stories, so I'm glad you wrote it and posted it. If I had anything constructive to say, it would only be that I thought the very ending seemed a little abrupt. I would have liked to have read John's response to what Ronon said. But that was the only thing. I loved the rest and am saving it to reread (and off to look for other of your stories.)

Heh, actually it was written a year later than it's dated as. I have this bad habit of backdating all new fic entries by one year for a few days after I post them. I usually fix it within a day or so. Sorry about that.

Thank you! I really worry about the characterization stuff when I'm in a fandom I'm new to, so it's really nice to know that it wasn't terribly OOC or something.

And I'm actually a fan of serious stories myself, but I always worry that people might get sick of seeing the same sort of fics from me. I'm a big fan of angst and introspective stuff, and it seems to show up in my stories quite frequently.

The ending bits of dialogue were actually something I just added on when I was at school posting this, so I'm not surprised it sounded a bit abrupt. It was last minute add-on stuff, but I kind of felt where I had left it before wasn't working.

Well, that's one nice thing about starting to write in a new fandom: new readers. And since Ronon-centric are a minority in SGA fandom, I appreciate every writer who focuses on him and does it well. :-)

:) It is nice! And the lack of Ronon-centric fics is actually part of why I wrote these. If I can't find fanfics about the character I want to read about, then I just have to write them myself. :D

GAH that is one of the best Shep/Ronon fics I've read in a loooong time. As tinetroll said, the undercurrent of real love is there, and it's a pleasure to see that; it's very hard to get it right when love is concerned, and you did.

AWW! You're too sweet! Thank you! And it's nice to know the love part is coming across well. I didn't want to state anything too obviously, plus, like you said, love is hard to write, so I was worried about that. I'm feeling much better about it now. :)

awww, this was awesome.
I love Ronan/John so fucking much. I have no idea why their fics are so rare. I thought dex/sheppard would dominate over mckay/sheppard. Boy was i wrong.
but yeah, i love this heaps.
please write more like it sometime!!

Thanks! I'm hoping to get back to writing fanfiction soon, so maybe they'll be more of this variety sometime in the near future.
