Kill the Buddha

Buddhism is nifty. I have heard several interpretations of the saying, "If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him"; the one I choose to take here is that of, if you can recognize the Buddha as such, he must be a false Buddha. I look at it more as a means of getting people to not follow authority blindly, more or less. Not so much on the lines of "you're not really going to kill him", but more along the lines of "free yourself from your attachment to the Buddha...". *shrug* :)
