My sleeping at night has been disrupted by a combination of the flu and more than that - the bedroom is too razzedfracking cold to sleep in!
If I huddled under the covers enough my wrists were doubled over painfully and I couldn't breathe due to both sinuses and lack of air; if I managed to stick my head far enough away from the mound of blankets I got drafts under the blankets - although that’s nothing new recently - and a draft straight up into my sinus. Attempts to reposition resulted in sticking to blankets - velvet on polar fleece is a dumb move for that reason, more drafts, something sticking in my ribs, general wheezing and disturbing Mister - to name a good number of mishaps.
So I have come downstairs to warm up some and try to sleep on the daybed down here in the warmer part of the house.
Now get this! In this fit of too much cold, I was wearing (to bed) two t-shirts and a velvet pj set complete with wearing the hood. Plus there are polar fleece sheets on the bed with two comforters, two blankets and a throw and there were two of us who couldn’t make sufficient body heat with a stake burning apparently?! It was impossible to get warm and comfortable at the same time. And it was barely under 0 Celsius outside when we retired for sleep - WHAT THE HADES IS FEBRUARY GOING TO BE LIKE IN THIS HOUSE?!!
The last time trying to sleep was this cold for me was in an un-insulated addition with a hot water radiator that was not working in February.
I am making sure a thermometer is purchased and brought into the house by the end of the weekend so I can do spots checks around the house - something is NOT right here with the thermostat set to 20C. The heat we must be losing is insane.
And just to add insult to injury, I was brought the Buckley's which is good, but the liquid kind *face of repulsion* because they don't carry the gel caps, and no Breathe Easy tea either - oh sure they've seen it, but they don't have it for whatever reason. *glare* Mister was thoroughly entertained when I had to take the Buckley’s. I suspect he's plotting to catch some repeat episode of this with a camera at some point. *grumble*
I'm a very angsty, cranky sick person in case you haven't noticed. *scowl* However, there are no exaggerations above and that is the scary part folks! And I hope this amuses everyone else as much as I hope it will amuse me one day, I plan to satirize myself if worst comes to worst.
Good things prior to bedtime fiasco:
