I'll be perfectly honest with you

I am not enjoying my new job these last two weeks. I had an unbelievably good week just prior. But gradually over the last two there have been steady declines in morale, trainee support, and my satisfaction with the inner politics of the store due to the personalities involved. Surprisingly enough, no bridezilla stories for me. The customers have ( Read more... )

aw, I thought that job would have been perfect for you. It is hard when the boss and employees are the problem.
Good luck!

The work itself I really do enjoy, and I can see very clearly that people are impressed with how I treat them.

We aren't on commission but how we are doing in relation to our targets sales-wise greatly effects the manager's behavior towards each of us. Other salesladies stealing sales is also not uncommon, and happened to me yesterday on top of the low morale of the atmosphere.

Add this on top of the lack of teamwork and sharing product knowledge makes the service side difficult. Add on top of this the most important factor for a bride is 'the' dress and it takes months to memorize or even become somewhat familiar with all the gowns... and I start to question my patience for the place.

You know my personality, I am much stronger on the creative and personal - not a hard seller, nor a hard closer. She hired me for my personability, but it ultimately isn't the trait she wants forefront of me.

I frankly have no clue how to be anyone other than sincerely myself, and no desire to be anyone other.

Hi. Its _silent_statue_ - new journal.
Add me again?

I know what you mean about business ethics. We had an incident with someone stealing and copying the master key on a lunch break. *facepalm*

Sorry to hear it's not going as well for you anymore, I hate hearing about the downward spiral! I honestly thought this would of been purrrrfect for you. I hope it picks up for you but if it doesn't, I hope the next job interview goes great! Good luck doll!

Thank you all around.

I actually just had the interview. The gist of it is that I have the job if I want it and I can ease from one to the other with flexibility for training. I think sampling would be a great way to know more, otherwise I'm just doing guesswork.

I also received a call yesterday from a music store. My guess is that the pay structure would not be very good, but it doesn't hurt to inquire.

In other news, I performed very well at work today. Sadly I suspect the behavior of one lady in particular has likely had ill effects on my managers attitude towards me. Pity, when people are so easily persuaded by the behavior of others.

Oh well, I have options. That is a good thing.
