Third day at work. Things are getting a little better...some things are clicking...some AREN'T. I finally snuck my book out today, even though we aren't supposed to...my supervisor made it clear that we are supposed to read/learn/train ON THE CLOCK, but there is quite simply, no time. When I work outside of hte home I work b/t 4 and 6 hour shifts. I love it! Do you have another PT thing going on or did you just want to work PT. I think everyone should work PT if they can! Why not, why waste your life working?!

I agree!

I just have the one part-time gig for now. I do sell a little on ebay. I did the 8-5 (or longer) deal for 5 years...sat behind a desk every day, wore heels, got the raises and promotions and increasing responsibility...and it paid well too. But, after a while, I got tired of feeling like all I did was work, and at a place where I felt like nothing I did, really mattered. At least now I'm face to face with people and I can make someone smile. And, I really just like having more *me* time. I can read more, craft more, and have more time with my friends and family.

YOU ARE! I didn't read the comments first. I work there too, part-time. Some of it will defintely take awhile to click, especially since you don't learn "bar" until several shifts in. Once you learn the drink recipes, it makes more sense. It took me 2 months to feel comfortable at the job, and I still get WAY stressed when I work bar. yay the bux.

Yay! Well, I know who to email for advice then :)

I actually told my boss today that I took my stuff home to study and she made a face, but I explained that it's just my personality to need that quiet time to absorb the info and that I don't want to fall behind and she understood. Today was my 4th day and they put me on the bar to practice. I think it's fun :)
