Rejection, or something like it

You know when people you've been friends with forever stop hanging out with you? That's what it is. Everyone goes with them. To hang out in their massive group of people, and me and Desiree are left with just us. Doing nothing. On a weekend. They're out, and we're wondering why no one's home. *shrug* Fine then ( Read more... )

-hides- I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I shall try to deter the others from entering the debate room (I don't get it either).

I'm tired, cranky, and have a lot of social and other problems weighing on my mind, so if this sounds scathing, you probably shouldn't take it personally.

I don't understand where this came from. You used to drag me into the debate room, or ask me to eat in there with you, or whatever. Now you're saying you don't want us in there? Fine. I'll stop eating in there. I'm not a debater, I'm not in her English class or anything, I guess I have no real *right* to be in that room. I just thought that, since I have friends in there, and since I'm trying to eat more with Mallory and you because you've been complaining that I don't, and since you two generally eat in there, that I'd be welcome or wanted or whatever. If I'm not, then whatever. You can come find me. I'll be in the theatre.

It's more like that there are reciprocal obligation that go along with it. It seems like all you do is come in there and talk to Elaine or whatever, so spending time with me isn't really an issue. Because if that was what you were interested in, maybe you'd take me along on the little get-togethers you have with the rest of your pals.

Maybe I'm misinterpeting, but the message I get is that you're not really interested that much. Maybe you are coming in the debate room to spend time with Mallory. It doesn't mean I can't have something to think about it.

Okay, first off, I generally go into the debate room partially in hopes that I'll escape Elaine. I love her dearly, but I spend way too much fucking time with her, and well...at least in the debate room, there's a million other people to talk to. It's been working okay so far, better than anything else I've come up with, and it's not hurting her feelings or anything. Sounds callous, but I really don't want to actually TELL her I'm spending too much time with her, because she'll get really hurt and I'll feel horrible ( ... )

I like having you there. I think my issue is that Katie Wells comes in there, and when you two are together you're loud and, to be honest, obnoxious, and I can't think straight. And when Elaine is there...she's Elaine-ish. And that bothers me. And I was putting the blame on you because you seem to be the only reason she comes in there at all ( ... )

We're currently having wars amongst the varsity debaters at my school too. Our coach went on matrnity leave and so now we have a long term sub from our arch-enemy school, team captains neglecting their jobs to the point where they haven't hosted the weekly meeting in three weeks, and twenty to thirty novice debaters going to a tournament this weekend without a clue in the world what they're doing.

~fun stuff.
