It always happens this way, but normally the effects aren't so devistating. It just always happens that one should make their friends at the end of the semester. I'm just usually not about to leave the country for an indefinate period of time ( Read more... )

I've never really yet traveled anywhere that I have gotten so attached to that I don't want to leave. There was one time, in Mexico, at some Mayan ruins in a place called Uxshmal (probably spelled wrong), that I had a perfect day. The ruins themselves were beautiful and virtually empty (we had been to others that were overflowing with tourists and i hated that because it made everything feel so fake). it was my favorite kind of day; just warm enough that if the sun shines of you, you feel a bit too warm, but cool enough that you shiver a bit if the wind picks up, and it was sun-showering on and off, nice giant slowfalling raindrops that felt so plesant to get hit with. There were 2 rainbows. It was just the time of year when all the flowers and trees had just reached full bloom, and the way the sun was hitting them all made me a bit teary as I looked around. I wandered away from the rest of the group and just laid on the ground under a little grove of trees for about an hour, watching the leaves moving in the breeze and enjoying the ( ... )
