There are many things that you pay me to do. Agreeing with you on personal matters and being your friend are not among them. I would say that we are friends, but there must be a line between our working relationship and our friendship. What a rational, well-articulated statement!

Wouldn't this world be an incredibly better place if things like this could be presented to people who screw up, be received dispassionately, errors admitted & corrected, and no hard feelings held?

(And can you tell that I've had similar letters broiling in my brain over the past month or so?)
