As last night I was kept awake ALL bloody night by the neighbours, today was crazily busy at work and I have a cold I ahve obviously been stricken with insomnia. It alays visits when it's least wanted.

You've not bolded 'The Woman in White' or 'Watership Down', but I would recommend them both. They're both really good, for entirely different reasons!
