DISNEY: Part Two

May 30, 2005 16:16

SATURDAY: DAY THREE ( m a y 28 )

We woke up extra early (meeting at 7:50) to get to Animal Kingdom since it opens at 8AM for Hotel Guests. We were even more tired this morning, and Courtney forgot her pass, so she and Benna returned to the hotel. Because the rest of us were die-hard (and terrible people) we went on the Safari anyway, where in line Bin and I modeled our massive sunglasses.

Then we set out for our African Safari where we caught poachers and saved elephants.

For full documentation of the safari (along with any pictures I may have missed, visit webshots)
We then waited in line for the Dinosaur ride where Katie was eaten.

Fortunately she escaped so that we could go on the ride. While we had our adventure, our group did what it does best.

On the ride, Benna and I had to hold hands and huddle because we were absolutely terrified. We almost bought the picture because it was so awesome, but for $16.75?? Child, please. After the other Dinosaur ride, we bought frozen bananas.

That shit was bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S, in fact. Afterwards, we danced with an African rap troupe. We were the "tigers" and had to go "pounce-pounce-roar".

Then we went to the "It's Tough to be a Bug" 3-D show, where we, once again, modeled the glasses.

Because we are hardcorexdisney, Katie, Benna and I went on the Dinosaur ride again, but this time I was ingested.

Benna and I screamed equally loud... and yes, held eachothers' hands. Afterwards we all went on the Kali river rapids, where we didn't get very wet. Katie and Jenni, however, did.

Benna and I didn't feel like going back to the pool yet and were sick of the cafeteria food, so we went to the Boardwalk at the Swan and Dolphin resort, where we had a romantic date. They tried giving us alcohol numerous times, but Benna is SADD president after all.

We walked around, shopped, and photo'd.

Then it was time to cool off by the pool, where the caped avenger stood watch in case anybody drowned.

While we were in their room, Barrett and the boys illustrated how it is imperative to be modest when ladies are around by covering your nipples. Yes, those are quarters.

And Katie flashed some leg, quite happy that there were shorts in Benna's skirt.

We had dinner at the amazing restaurant in Morocco.

Where we had a belly dancer for entertainment.

Tommy and Sarah were certainly entertained.

I ruined Court's meal by commenting on how small the lamb that we ate must have been when they killed it, based on the length of it's leg. I am a terrible person.

In Epcot's France, Katie got "drague'd" (ie hit on for all you non-frenchies) by the guy who worked there. He told her that our french was very good and that most Americans weren't good at foreign language. When he found out that Katie wanted to do a year abroad there, he gave her his e-mail address to "speak french" with so that when she got to Paris, he could "help her get around". Here, she displays the evidence.

To go shopping in Downtown Disney, Bendawg and I had to go to a hotel first to take the bus. We nearly got stranded. It was terrifying. (This is also where Benna got the bug bite on her butt.)

The boys had moved all four beds of their adjoining rooms into one, and put their "Seven Dwarves" monikers above their sleeping spaces. Here, I present John (aka Snuuugly)

Greg and Big J(aka Cleanly and Sexy, respectively)

Benna and I were a little late for the toga party.

Biron and I had a war: his wet, twisted towel versus my light saber. Not only did he win, chasing me down the corridor, but I ended up missing curfew by like, a minute. It was awesome.

SUNDAY: THE DEPARTURE ( m a y 29 )
On a day full of tears, everyone had to get up to pack. Therefore, Mrs. Bruneau and Benna jumped on Kasey, Court and Bri to wake them up.

You really can't trust Benna, despite her innocent facade. Here, she tries to steal from a 3 year old.

We boarded the buses at 12, after I napped by the pool for a couple of hours (vacations are exhausting!). At the Orlando airport, we realized how much disney loves us based on the number of references to Westford things. For example, Katie's award winning old band.

And Mrs. Toohey's beverages.

I sat with Scott on the plane where we OWNED trivia again as "Javert" and "UNC".

Alright. To be honest, I when I woke up from a nap, I saw that I was #2 in trivia and coudln't figure out what was going on. Then I realized that Scott had been playing for me. Basically, our row was superfly.

In short, Disney was absolutely AMAZING and what a way to finish our High School careers! (ha. as though school is a job.) I had an absolute blast and thank you so much everybody for making it so fun! Love you all... so 10 year reunion anyone? I'm up for a redo.
