FaerieCon Part 1

Check it out ... I TOUCHED FROUDS!

Yea!  FaerieCon was a blast.   This is the first chance I've had to photoshop my photos.  Zoe and I had a great time, and, as you can see, I TOUCHED FROUDS!!!

My dream is 2/3 rds fullfilled.  As you know, Brian Froud was unable to attend because of a detatched retina.  (Well, there's always next year!)  As soon as Zoe and I got inside the convention center the first thing we did was buy his new book and get Wendy to sign it.  Oh, and of coarse take pictures!  It was during the Fairy Fashion Show that my friend, Hannah, spotted Toby and Zoe and I were able to get some pictures with him.  Both Wendy and Toby were SO nice!  I was worried about coming off as a total-super-fan-geek but they were really great.

While at FaerieCon I saw some of my LJ friends...

Ok, I have the worst memory ever!  I can't remember my first friend's LJ name!  But the second is posiefairy  and the next is wildwose !  Oh yeah!  And a Posie Hug for whisperfae !!

While we were there, we met up with Hannah (Note new super cool Froud book in hand).  Hannah used to be a camper at the camp where Zoe and I work, Long Lake Camp for the Arts.  I haven't seen her in a couple of years, so it was AWESOME to meet up with her at FaerieCon!  I also made friends with a wee rat puppet.  The guy to whom the rat belonged did an excellent job with the puppet.  It washed it's little rat face, nipped and nibbled on your clothes.

We heard there were some fairy catchers roaming around the Con.  As curious Fae, we wanted to know what that was about so we "caught" up with a couple of them.  As it turns out, both were doing a fairy catch and release program.  The first fairy catcher to get us was this adorable little elf!  She had a wee fairy net.  The next were pretty hard core fairy hunters.  They caught us, tagged us and then released us.  I LOVED the tag!  (It's held on by magnets) They took our photo, name and what kind of fae we are.  They said it was to track our migration and stuff.  The website they told us to look for ourselves on was www.flickr.com/photos/faeriehunters
.  Check it out!

I got some great shots of fellow fae while we were there!  The first was a fairy on a phone!  She was in the fairy fashion show and is sporting Renae Taylor wings.  The next is the fairy that told us about the fairy hunters (she has a tag).  I thought she looked like a big pink cake!  The third is a cute older fairy couple.  Don't they look great?

This next set of photos has a lovely purple fairy whose outfit I just loved.  Then a mushroom fairy that made her own hat.  It was red with big white spots.  Her jeans had green grass stalks on them, too.  The last is a volunteer fairy who checked us in when we got to the convention center.  Her purple outfit was too cute!

Then I got some good shots at the fairy fashion show of some lovely outfits.  The first is actually very Steam Punk (you can't see the bussel).  I am now in love with Steam Punk fashion!  The next wasn't in the fashion show, but was SOOO cute!  A tired little dragon baby that made me miss my little Evie!  Then back to the fashion show with a "haute" little outfit!

And lastly for today, more fashion show shots.  Two GORGEOUS outfits with Renea Taylor wings.  (Did I mention how much I love Renae Taylor's wings?  So jealous of her stuff!!)  And a little dryad with a yummy leather bodice that look just like bark!

Now that's not ALL my photos!  I'll have more later!  Still to come... Fairy artists, more LJ friends, noodles and the Bad Faerie Ball!
