Actually Peter ordered the chocolate cake -- but Simone finished it for him. After her own "deceptively compact sandwich of cream, pastry, and icing" (Aaronovitch doesn't mention fruit, but it sounds somewhat like the cream-and-fruit-and-pastry dessert I had, photo above).
