Our Next House Will Have A Garage

Jan 16, 2007 10:06

No Question!

I even got up early today because I knew I'd have to plow my car off.

Little did I know it'd take me 10 minutes just to get my doors open. Thank DeeMom for my automatic car starter or it may have taken me a half hour to pry my doors open.

Yeah, our next house will have a garage.

I feel like I have to take another shower. :(

One thing I hate more than snow, is ice. The two together do not make for a good combination. :(

Good Exercise!?!

Nothing like sweating in the cold, huh?

We originally thought about building a garage ... but with the property values of the neighborhood and all of the other improvements we've made, it just wouldn't be cost effective.

So ... time to find a new place. lol

that is a requirement with the homes jason and i are going to be looking at. besides space for car in winter, we want building stuff room that won't mess up a room in the house.

A car large enough for two cars and a workroom? My family had that in our old house in Boyne and boy was it nice.

Back when we were looking for houses, I didn't really have too many requirements ... and by the time we actually decided on a house (8 months later), I was willing to overlook a few things.

Our next house will have a few things this one is lacking:
A garage
More than one bathroom
More closets

8 Months is awhile, i can see desiding on less requirements at that point.
garage for us is ok if 1 car can go in and work space in the remaining. ice doesn't bother me too much, but the idea of trading back and forth sounds pretty good too. there are also alot of two car garages in ypsilanti houses.

had a "fun" thing last night. Jason gets off work at midnight. at 12:15 i get a call saying his car is frozen shut. So i get dressed and head that direction. Before i get to the freeway though he calls again saying he was able to pry a door open. i go home and climb into bed again and i think about how nice a garage sounds after that sort of thing. not that it'll help at work, but to keep it from happening when home.

Not to rub it in, because I've never had a garage to use for cars before, but yeah it's nice.

I never considered the garage too much while we were waiting for the house to be built, but now that it's officially winter, I couldn't be happier about it. I love unloading the groceries inside the garage. I don't have to worry about the cats escaping the house while the door is open, and I don't get wet when it's raining.
Definately include the garage when you do the whole house thing again. It's really been the icing on the cake for us.
