We told alendark's sister that we'd watch her kitty while she went on vacation this week with the rest of the family.

Poor little soul. Luthien, being the dominant brat that he is, cornered her under the end table under the phone. I'm sure she was there all night ... and probably still is now. alendark said she came out this morning when he was getting ready ( Read more... )

unfortunatly if your luthien is anything like my moxey, then the visiting kitty is better off just getting a room to stay in that luthien can't get into. It took moxey two weeks to accept kizmet and he was a kitten (8-10 weeks old). I do hope you have better luck.

Natural order of things. There will always be a dominant animal in the house, each new animal either has to fall inline or take the dominant position. some will fight back for varying amounts of time some just give in immediately. Sometimes the place matters too, in a neutral place Loki and Dyno will get into it, at my place Loki is dominant and at Colin's Dyno is. It took Horus and Dyno awhile to work out who was Beta at my place, and I'm still not sure which one is. Bastet is low kitty on the totem pole, except in Cory's room where she'll hiss at the dogs but not attack them.

Thats also why it's usually easier to work a cat into a medium+ size dogs house than any dog into a cat house.

Oh, he knows he's the Master of the House. And it isn't like Jake is begging to differ either.

I'll stand by the fact that my Luthien is simply a bully. :)

Yesterday was almost a complete reversal of roles.

We finally coaxed Jake out from under the end table. Luthien & Lhiannon were cautious, but pretty much stayed back while she was the one doing the hissing.

Kitties ... I swear!

The amusing thing is watching Lhiannon through all of this. Since the issue is primarily with Luthien & Jake, she sits back and watches like an outsider. Quite funny.

My cat hates her own son. Is that crazy? lol. He's always trying to play with her or lay down with her and she will have nothing to do with it.
