Agreed. It's one thing to say, "We want you to write x-amount." Not generally my bag, but hey. People have preferences. Cool. What kills me is when it's alleged that x-amount of paragraphs consisting of x-amount of sentences is the way to write. Anyone who suggests that you cannot advance a plot in less than three five-sentence paragraphs ought to have a conversation with some of history's greatest writers. Vonnegut springs to mind. Such a person should also remember that your average RPer is not a great Victorian writer (and that a lot of great Victorian writers' styles are exceedingly bloated by modern standards anyway ( ... )
