Zack's 6'3", a bit of a giant. Thin, but with a good upper-body build. In short, he's no pushover, but he's not structured like a massive bodybuilder.

Twenty-three; his (fanon) birthday is December 16th.

Nah, straight-backed all the way. You'll never meet a guy with more natural confidence than Zack Fair. Crikey.

The mako in his body keeps him from getting sick for the most part, and he's very healthy otherwise.

Relaxed, more than anything.

He is a sexy beast and he knows it. He's not a narcissist or anything... it all comes back to his confidence. Have I mentioned his confidence :|

Slightly tanned farmer skin, which shows up well since he's always around Cloud of the Geisha-Skin tribe. True to his name he's fair. Kind of plain, really, no freckles or anything.

His hair is black, and absurdly spiky. Despite the style of it, it's actually pretty soft and fluffy, rather than all stiff and rock-gel immobile.

Sky blue, with the glow of mako in them.

He has a cross-shaped scar on his left cheek; half was due to Angeal being a twat and the other half was a motorcycle accident involving an unfortunate helmet.

...He... doesn't really have any? Well, okay, he narrows his eyes and grits his teeth when he's pissed. Who doesn't?
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
He likes his uniform, but he's usually casual. He's a colourful guy, so he's not opposed to sprucing up a bit to look nice and noticeable.

Zack's always comfortable |D He'd look comfortable in pretty much anything he chose to wear. But he mostly picks darker clothes with soft yet durable fabric.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
Usually the same for both, because he often gets that little phone call that summons him back to work at the most inopportune times. It's rather annoying.

EXCITABLE 8| Seriously though, Zack is the epitome of casual speech. He can spout off the most shameless of lines without even missing a beat; if he's rejected he'll handle it with ease and just keep going.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
He's pretty much wrestled all the hick out of his speech patterns, so he's normal all around unless he chooses to use it.

Just whatever language they use in the FFVII world. Nothing notable.

He could probably do his hick-accent if the opportunity arose, but such a thing has never happened. Nobody wants to sound like they came from the ass of the world. |Db

Oh, definitely impromptu. He hardly ever thinks about what's coming out of his mouth.

...Neither. Again, he says what comes to mind, good, bad, cheeky or obnoxious. He's a good-natured guy, though, so what he says is mostly meant to help or encourage people.
Mental and Emotional

Street-smart. He's not stupid, but he figures he has better things to do than sit around reading novels of paperwork. If he wanted to do that he'd have joined the Turks.

He thinks on the move; he's very much an action-oriented person. Sometimes he'll sit and mull over things, but it doesn't last long.

Intuitive and practical, but idealistic when it comes to people and their behaviour. He runs on impulses and gut-reactions; if he had to stop and think he'd probably get bored. He also trusts very easily, and has a lot of compassion even for his enemies. (To an extent; he spares Genesis and grieves for Angeal, but hates Hojo with a fiery passion.)
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Not much aside from whatever training he got in SOLDIER. He had some home-schooling in Gongaga as a kid but his attention span was... erratic, to say the least.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
Swordsmanship, being a grunt, violence, flirting :| He'd like to learn construction and stuff, he actually finds the manual labour pretty fun. Probably because it takes very little effort, what with all the genetic modifications.

Oh holy hell extrovert. He's all over the place.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Even-tempered, cheerful to a disgusting degree, obscenely laid-back. Seriously I want you to try and ruffle this man. His favourite thing to do is smile and he tries his best to do it every second of every minute of every day.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Enthusiastic all the way! If it's a good situation, anyway, or new people who haven't given him any reason to be suspicious or antagonistic. Basically, if you seem even remotely friendly or you just plain don't threaten him or those he cares about, he'll assume you are cool and play nice. He can make friends at the drop of a hat.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
A bit of both, depending on the situation. Usually act; he hates waiting around for someone else to make the first move.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
He'll fight if he thinks he can take it or if he has no reason to run; if he's protecting someone and it's safer to just bail, he has no issues with running away or hiding.

All of the above sans the gallows; he's not one for misery or wallowing in it. He loves to playfully tease people and will never hesitate to do so. He's also not opposed to pranks either.

...oh god. Um. Honestly, considering his past he should, and he has a whole whackload of issues - he's lost friends, he's killed friends, he spent four years in a basement with a mad scientist getting tortured for no reason and watched a friend experience the same thing, spent a year on the run, died, and has spent the last three years in yet another ongoing experiment with no means to escape. He's content in Luceti, but... by god, how is this man even still sane, let alone as well adjusted as he is?
In short- no, I haven't found a mental disorder that fits Zack, but he sure as hell creates them in other people. He gave Cloud two or three when he died. :| (Fugue state/DID, PTSD, acute stress disorder)
...After discussing this with Eggy I decided he has Migratory Angst Disorder, which, as Eggy was quick to discover, means Zack makes people MAD. Yes.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
Canonically:
-meeting Aerith
-the day Angeal died (coincidentally, same day he met Cloud, but that wasn't significant at the time); additionally, the day he recovered from his post-Angeal angst and learns to deal with it
-when Nibelheim burned and he fought Sephiroth

14. What does he fear?
Ever being trapped in the same situation as Nibelheim again. For him, or Cloud, or both. Feeling that sort of helplessness is really scary for him. Also he has some issues with guns; he's liable to flinch if he hears a gun go off, particularly a machine gun. Getting shot to death can have that effect.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
Well, he used to hope to someday become a hero... but since he died sort of believing that happened, he just hopes to go home alive with Cloud and Aerith.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
That his optimism isn't infinite; that he's worried someday something else will go wrong and he'll lose everything again. Crisis Core was essentially a series of episodes of "How to Fuck Up Zack Fair's Life", and he doesn't want the show to go back on air.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
...He hasn't spoken to them in more than thirteen years :| (All we know is he sent them a letter, lol.) He misses his mom, though. Named his chocobo after her.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
None, he's an only child.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Zack has a closer relationship with his mother than his father, but he cares for them both, though he's terrible about keeping in contact with them. He sent only one letter the entire time he was with SOLDIER.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Cloud and Aerith, most definitely. They're pretty much the only ones who qualify. Cloud is his best friend forever, and Aerith is... he's not sure yet.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Cloud is Zack's best friend; they met on a mission during their time at Shinra and got along swimmingly until said mission went sour and depressing. Despite that Zack considered him to be a friend right off the bat, and even remembered his name when they met up again two years later.
6. Does he have other close friends?
Cissnei is special to him in that "I sort of have a crush but she's unattainable and a Turk and I have an amazing girlfriend already" way. Tseng is someone he trusted to look after Aerith. Sephiroth is... complicated. Angeal is his unforgettable mentor, though he deserves a good punch for everything he put Zack through.
Luceti-only, he considers Guy and Yuri to be pretty significant people in his life.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He'll consider someone to be a friend after a five-minute conversation with them. This is canon. It is both hilarious and adorable.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Zack really can't distinguish between the two; every life has importance to him. God help the person who ever tries to make him choose between two people.

Single! Never married.

Nothing at the moment.

He used to have the most adorable crush on Heideggar's secretary. She was too old for him but her boobs were fantastic. Latest... eh. /will do later

He's not picky, but that's not to say he'll settle for anyone. He wants to be somebody's hero, he wants someone he can talk to and be honest with, but not too honest. He wants physical attraction and yes, sex, but he's not forceful about it. By some miracle he has the patience of a saint. More than anything else, he wants someone who needs him, someone who will rely on him but still support him when he needs it. Zack needs someone who is okay with who he is, but can give him a good bitchslap if he's pushing himself too hard to be happy.

Zack has no kids, and while he loves them, he knows he's too much of one to make a decent father. So this is pretty much not meant to be right now.

Sort of? Hojo would be a major, major enemy if he was around, and Genesis and Sephiroth are sort of at the neutral/low-key "watch these dudes" level. He hates Jenova with a passion.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
Zack's about the middle, leaning ever so slightly towards hetero. I guess 2 or 3, then. His focus is more on the person than the sex.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
SEX IS GREAT. Though as much as he talks about it, he's nowhere near as sexual as he lets on. He can go without it if necessary (he'd never push someone into it, and five years in Nibelheim made him a bit shy, especially with Aerith at first), and he's careful to look for hints before making a move, simply because he's so big, he doesn't want to end up looking pushy just by being so dominant by size. If... that makes any sense? But he does enjoy it. Very, very, very much.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Turn-ons are certain sweet spots that I will list when I can remember them lol. Tummy? orz. He also loves playful banter, and honestly nothing gets him more in the mood more than a bit of verbal sparring beforehand. Turn-offs are emo talk, self-depreciating comments, orrrrr. Hm. A certain someone telling him to stop partway through. :| He has a habit of flip-flopping dominance; he's perfectly content to be Cloud's bitch (but not a girly uke one 8|) but when he and Aerith play around he's on top (until she flips them ohoho). He likes oral, but usually when his partner is the recipient. He would never, ever ask for it.

I based this off my fanon birthday for him, December 16th.
Sagittarius - optimistic, freedom-loving, honest, good-humoured, irresponsible, restless... yep, this is Zack to a T.
Rat - ...Another one? >:/ Zack shares some characteristics with the rat (chatty, hides his problems, honest, lots of acquaintances, stubborn, protective) and others don't match. It's weird.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Nnnnnnot in the slightest. It never interested him, but he's been turned off of religion entirely thanks to Sephiroth's god complex, Jenova's meddling, and Genesis's rambling about Minerva all the goddamned time.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
fff. The moral code Zack will always and forever believe in is "follow your dreams and protect your honour". He's also a firm believer in protecting the world from anything that would harm it. It's seriously doubtful if he'd ever compromise those beliefs since the often coincide with his other goals.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He's alright with it, but if it's religious he'll get bored easily. Generally he doesn't fuss about it, though he won't hesitate to share his own methodology because he thinks it could benefit everyone.

He has a serious dislike for scientists and a mild distrust of doctors, too. Four years of torture and experimentation with Hojo says it's a damn good reason for it.
Daily Life

Probably dirt poor back home since he's on the run and has been missing for five years. Not that he cares.

Definitely changed; he went from the kid of a farmer in hicksville Gongaga, to a SOLDIER recruit, to First Class, and finally to mercenary/lab escapee. Talk about fall from grace.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
In Luceti he has a nice cozy apartment with Aerith; he considers it a home right now, but for him, the people around him is more important than where he sleeps. It's probably relatively clean, but he's not a neat freak unless Aerith shoos him into keeping it clean.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
NOTHING FOR HE HAS NONE. D| Back in Midgar he probably spent it all on upgrades and shiny weapon-related stuff. And maybe exercise equipment if he didn't always use the Shinra facilities. He was all over the place in Midgar. ...And a motorcycle. He totally used to have one. (A Shinra model 8|b)
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
Well, he was a SOLDIER, and he loved it (when he wasn't getting emotionally traumatized), and was interested in being a mercenary, and he'd probably have loved that, too. Right now he's working with Brave Vesperia, which is the odd-jobs group... which is basically how he described the mercenary job, so yeah, I'd say he likes it. :|b
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Generally Zack spends a lot of time exercising. SOLDIERs have a ridiculous amount of stamina and energy, and he'll go for hours at a time before he starts feeling the need to take a break. If he's not exercising he's napping outside (because he likes to sleep and gets bored easily), or browsing around the village checking up on people.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Zack eats meals regularly (practically religiously; he loves eating but does so healthily). Since his body is so well protected with the mako he has a stomach of steel (probably how he endured any food Cloud might have managed to bring to life) and a crazy metabolism. He drinks, but not too much; the mako pretty much nulls most of the alcohol in his system and with four years of it backed up he has yet to find the limit.

That his optimism isn't infinite; that he's worried someday something else will go wrong and he'll lose everything again. Crisis Core was essentially a series of episodes of "How to Fuck Up Zack Fair's Life", and he doesn't want the show to go back on air.
Relationships

...He hasn't spoken to them in more than thirteen years :| (All we know is he sent them a letter, lol.) He misses his mom, though. Named his chocobo after her.

None, he's an only child.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
Zack has a closer relationship with his mother than his father, but he cares for them both, though he's terrible about keeping in contact with them. He sent only one letter the entire time he was with SOLDIER.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Cloud and Aerith, most definitely. They're pretty much the only ones who qualify. Cloud is his best friend forever, and Aerith is... he's not sure yet.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Cloud is Zack's best friend; they met on a mission during their time at Shinra and got along swimmingly until said mission went sour and depressing. Despite that Zack considered him to be a friend right off the bat, and even remembered his name when they met up again two years later.
6. Does he have other close friends?
Cissnei is special to him in that "I sort of have a crush but she's unattainable and a Turk and I have an amazing girlfriend already" way. Tseng is someone he trusted to look after Aerith. Sephiroth is... complicated. Angeal is his unforgettable mentor, though he deserves a good punch for everything he put Zack through.
Luceti-only, he considers Guy and Yuri to be pretty significant people in his life.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
He'll consider someone to be a friend after a five-minute conversation with them. This is canon. It is both hilarious and adorable.
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
Zack really can't distinguish between the two; every life has importance to him. God help the person who ever tries to make him choose between two people.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Single! Never married.
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nothing at the moment.
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
He used to have the most adorable crush on Heideggar's secretary. She was too old for him but her boobs were fantastic. Latest... eh. /will do later
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
He's not picky, but that's not to say he'll settle for anyone. He wants to be somebody's hero, he wants someone he can talk to and be honest with, but not too honest. He wants physical attraction and yes, sex, but he's not forceful about it. By some miracle he has the patience of a saint. More than anything else, he wants someone who needs him, someone who will rely on him but still support him when he needs it. Zack needs someone who is okay with who he is, but can give him a good bitchslap if he's pushing himself too hard to be happy.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
Zack has no kids, and while he loves them, he knows he's too much of one to make a decent father. So this is pretty much not meant to be right now.

Sort of? Hojo would be a major, major enemy if he was around, and Genesis and Sephiroth are sort of at the neutral/low-key "watch these dudes" level. He hates Jenova with a passion.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
Zack's about the middle, leaning ever so slightly towards hetero. I guess 2 or 3, then. His focus is more on the person than the sex.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
SEX IS GREAT. Though as much as he talks about it, he's nowhere near as sexual as he lets on. He can go without it if necessary (he'd never push someone into it, and five years in Nibelheim made him a bit shy, especially with Aerith at first), and he's careful to look for hints before making a move, simply because he's so big, he doesn't want to end up looking pushy just by being so dominant by size. If... that makes any sense? But he does enjoy it. Very, very, very much.
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Turn-ons are certain sweet spots that I will list when I can remember them lol. Tummy? orz. He also loves playful banter, and honestly nothing gets him more in the mood more than a bit of verbal sparring beforehand. Turn-offs are emo talk, self-depreciating comments, orrrrr. Hm. A certain someone telling him to stop partway through. :| He has a habit of flip-flopping dominance; he's perfectly content to be Cloud's bitch (but not a girly uke one 8|) but when he and Aerith play around he's on top (until she flips them ohoho). He likes oral, but usually when his partner is the recipient. He would never, ever ask for it.
Beliefs

I based this off my fanon birthday for him, December 16th.
Sagittarius - optimistic, freedom-loving, honest, good-humoured, irresponsible, restless... yep, this is Zack to a T.
Rat - ...Another one? >:/ Zack shares some characteristics with the rat (chatty, hides his problems, honest, lots of acquaintances, stubborn, protective) and others don't match. It's weird.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
Nnnnnnot in the slightest. It never interested him, but he's been turned off of religion entirely thanks to Sephiroth's god complex, Jenova's meddling, and Genesis's rambling about Minerva all the goddamned time.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
fff. The moral code Zack will always and forever believe in is "follow your dreams and protect your honour". He's also a firm believer in protecting the world from anything that would harm it. It's seriously doubtful if he'd ever compromise those beliefs since the often coincide with his other goals.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
He's alright with it, but if it's religious he'll get bored easily. Generally he doesn't fuss about it, though he won't hesitate to share his own methodology because he thinks it could benefit everyone.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
He has a serious dislike for scientists and a mild distrust of doctors, too. Four years of torture and experimentation with Hojo says it's a damn good reason for it.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Probably dirt poor back home since he's on the run and has been missing for five years. Not that he cares.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
Definitely changed; he went from the kid of a farmer in hicksville Gongaga, to a SOLDIER recruit, to First Class, and finally to mercenary/lab escapee. Talk about fall from grace.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
In Luceti he has a nice cozy apartment with Aerith; he considers it a home right now, but for him, the people around him is more important than where he sleeps. It's probably relatively clean, but he's not a neat freak unless Aerith shoos him into keeping it clean.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
NOTHING FOR HE HAS NONE. D| Back in Midgar he probably spent it all on upgrades and shiny weapon-related stuff. And maybe exercise equipment if he didn't always use the Shinra facilities. He was all over the place in Midgar. ...And a motorcycle. He totally used to have one. (A Shinra model 8|b)
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
Well, he was a SOLDIER, and he loved it (when he wasn't getting emotionally traumatized), and was interested in being a mercenary, and he'd probably have loved that, too. Right now he's working with Brave Vesperia, which is the odd-jobs group... which is basically how he described the mercenary job, so yeah, I'd say he likes it. :|b
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
Generally Zack spends a lot of time exercising. SOLDIERs have a ridiculous amount of stamina and energy, and he'll go for hours at a time before he starts feeling the need to take a break. If he's not exercising he's napping outside (because he likes to sleep and gets bored easily), or browsing around the village checking up on people.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Zack eats meals regularly (practically religiously; he loves eating but does so healthily). Since his body is so well protected with the mako he has a stomach of steel (probably how he endured any food Cloud might have managed to bring to life) and a crazy metabolism. He drinks, but not too much; the mako pretty much nulls most of the alcohol in his system and with four years of it backed up he has yet to find the limit.
