One thing you'll find, if you're bored with your story others will be too. (It's like teaching in that respect, when I am bored with what I'm teaching, my class is too and I have to figure a way to shake it up and make it interesting again.) If you find part of it tedious, you don't need that part. Nobody will miss it. If something happens important there, tell it quickly and move on. There that will be two cents, please.
