On May 19th of this year I did the BIG purchase of the year, and bought my husband an XBOX. The expensive one. Then we purchased a game that my husband was eager to play, and I was eager to watch him play (my spectator sport of choice) - Mass Effect. That was his birthday present. Well, to be honest I would have waited a bit longer. New model of 360 is supposed to be announced soon, and since it was from walmart, you may have gotten the first gen.

It takes 2-3 weeks because it gets sent down to texas to be repaired. Even microsofties have to do this.

Oh, and if you think of getting those add-on fans to help cool it, DONT!!!! It uses up so much power draining from the usb ports that it will cause the 360 to overheat.

We've had our 360 elite for over 2 months and love it. Hope the one they send back works better.

Sounds like a fluke to me. According to my husband, he hasn't heard of any elites dying like that around work. I'm sure once you get it back it'll be fine.

So, my Davey (Jax's boy) used to work for Cisco, and part of his job included flying to India several times a year to train tech support people. One time, I had a need to talk to A tech support, not really Cisco, but that doesn't matter. After finishing, I sent him the following text: Hey, next time you go to India to train people, don't train them with that funny accent.
