We ended up with 22-24" of snow, hard to measure exactly when the winds are blowing it around. So much for Monday night football, the roof of the football stadium collapsedAll my pictures are taken from indoors, as I have been drifted in until just a little while ago. I'm now completely snow-blowed out and the roads are clear, the malls are open ( Read more... )

It's hard to even recognize some of those scenes with the snow piled on them.

You have such nice neighbors.

It is nice to see neighbors out helping each other shovel, snow-blow and push stuck cars out together. Storms always bring people together. I wish I could do more of that still, but my snow blower was used to do four driveways so far, so at least I can contribute equipment.

BRRRRRRRR! Haven't seen snow like that since we lived in Montana. Stay warm!

We get more cold than snow around here usually, so this is a pain. And the cold is following... it is now +6F, which is supposed to be the high for the day. -20 tonight and dangerous windchills again. Lovely January weather we're having!

The temps have been hovering near 0F, with windchills as low as -40F due to the strong winds.. which happens to be -40C too.. thought that was fun that our temperature measurement systems collided there.

That is pretty cool that it's the same in either measuring system. But really ridiculously cold. Here we've been complaining that it's been -1C during the day and -5C at night - however you measure it, that's an awful lot warmer than you've been getting! (but plenty cold enough for me)

That hovering right at freezing is such a pain though - ice is worse than snow. We will easily go for several months now without the temperatures going above freezing, but at least we don't have the ice problems like you've been having.

When it gets really cold, like -20F (-28C) and lower the exhaust from the cars idling will freeze and make black ice that you cannot see. That is super dangerous on roads that cold.

I have a small fountain for the cats and the big one for the dogs. And they still drink from the toilets and the cats still demand the faucets be left dripping for them. Spoiled rotten brats.

You can still complain.. whenever the weather is worse than what you're used to, its a pain!

Wow. Poor birdie. I'm glad you don't have to go out in that. I love the screened porch; I bet it's even nicer in the summer :-)

I did get all the front feeders cleaned off and filled, so the birds have something to eat. In a few days, the neighbor boys are going to haul all the backyard feeders in so I can do them.

I am glad I don't have to go out either. It is going to be VERY cold now, and I can't breathe in that.
