sounds like your aunt has a good head on her shoulders, there is nothing to "get" from this movie.
i understood the plot, but as for taking something away from watching this movie...i got nothing. this film sucked, nice to look at, but man did it suck. i didnt care if he got to live forever with his queen/or cure his girlfriend's tumor/or accept death as he floated into the nebula. i didnt care because it was trite overwrought pretentiousness brought to the big screen.
