I guess the way I look at this is that yes we Can do something about it, and by "we" I don't mean people in general, I mean you and me and people our age. We are young, brilliant, talented, and most improtantly, hopeful and full of ideas. The time is now. Plus the global warming thing happens like every hundred million years or so. So if it does happen, I figure that life on earth will survive in some form. humans will probably survive. Heck, we're resourceful and brainy. Our lives will just kind of suck for a while. this is my optomistic outlook because at times like this pessimism just makes you depressed and apathetic, which is no help at all. Just keep telling yourself we can do it, we can do it, because we Can.

I agree completley, but it really is scary. But ti's completyley the wrong thing to do to get all apathetic and hopeless. That said, it's VERY important to note that what is happening now is on a scale never before seen. The thing that happens ever hundred million years or whtever is no where near htis dramatic. We are looking at somehitng that is off the charts, and by that i eman it literallly would be far far far offf any chart that mapped every global cooling and heating for the last 6 billion years or whatever. This has never happened before, and it's happeing fast, and it's happening exponetiallly. If we don't do somethng, and actilvely, and immmidiately, things will get alot worse than humanity, or most any other creature, alive or extinct, has ever seen them ( ... )

ok that is seriously gross and yes, kind of calculating, but it kind of made me giggle the way you seemed to be so casually discussing the problem of where to put the dead bodies. hee hee
