Well, Georgia is right, Arthur really is terrible at apologies. But at least he is trying and we can see just how seldom he bothers to do that. He does not really want to admit to his interest and attraction to Merlin but right at the end we get the beginning of their burgeoning relationship (I always wanted to say that). Well played. Arthur gets a deeper personality in this chapter so we can start to understand why Merlin is attracted to him, which is good. He is displaying more of himself and is not just a bully with good looks. Most people over the age of twenty like a bit more than that to their lovers and I have read a distressing amount of Harlequin romances where the hero starts out as a possesive arse and never evolves from there, so kudos to you for making Arthur a 3D person

Thank you for such a thoughtful comment :) You're right, I didn't want either of the Pendragons to come across as cardboard cutouts, even though Merlin is trying to convince himself that all he's seeing in Arthur is hotness.

OH MY GOD, you updated it! I cannot even say how happy and grateful I am. Wow, Merlin got his canonic job - Arthur's servant. ;) I like it, but I believe that I'll have to reread all chapters, before writting something more because I don't remember everything.

And I am actually really happy that it is posted on ao3. I know it was there from the beginning, but I never realised it was there until now, and it's easier for me to follow it there, so that's good. ;D

I love this story, and I hope that the new chapter will be soon. ;DD

Hah, yes, I wanted the AU to at least preserve the dynamic that exists because of Merlin's position as servant-with-a-dangerous-secret, because I think it contributes well to the pairing.

And I actually only posted it on AO3 when this latest chapter was complete; I'm in the process of moving all of my fics over there.
