Ooh, I'm excited you wrote this! I haven't read anything SA and I loved them so this is just perfect. I love it, the first and last parts especially. The line "fitting in just enough to fill the space" is chilling. Poor Ernst, I feel so bad for him. The pretending is just so sad.

I feel like this would be a hard fandom to write. Can't say why, exactly, but I'm definitely impressed that you wrote this.

Yay! Ernst/Hanschen has become my new tragic sadface OTP. Writing-wise, I didn't find it a particularly difficult fandom, perhaps that has something to do with my slight obsession though the female characters are tough to write I think. If you're ever interested in more SA fic, eightylines has some; she writes Ernst/Hanschen so well but she also writes the rest of the characters very well. Thanks for reading my little ficlet. I really appreciate it.
