Yeah, I understand where you are coming from and completely agree with it. After reading over this I just thought it was interesting, because it's not something you think about everyday. I don't think I ever said that emo was sexist, and then for someone to so blatantly point it out, it sparked a little debate in my head, so I thought I would share it. Like it said, we take the songs and make them our own no matter what sex the singer is referring too, so when someone actually says this outloud it makes you wonder just a little. The book that it's from was actually written by a guy. Maybe he is trying to over-compensate for that. Like the way he talks about how we see someone's cleavage. I'm sorry *I* didn't notice that girls cleavage, but this guy did. It seems like he feels he has to vindicate that the band meant for you to see it because it clearly jumped out at him. Haha But dude, I WANTED people to debate this. I didn't write it... but I thought it was an interesting, perhaps not correct, take on things.
