Hey there--I see you are aping Romana II?! I am so excited and decided not to hide it, so I came over to, er, stalk you, and saw that you like Hornblower (and Legally Blonde, apparently, as per icon) as WELL. (I am not reading Lord Hornblower atm b/c until I do, Bush doesn't die, right?) I'mma friend you through this my non-fic lj, if that's cool by you?
Well... I'm thinking about it. I suppose thinking about it enough to ask the question. :) I RP her a bit on LJ, but mainly for the express purpose of harassing any Doctors I come across -- which is to say I'm not sure I have an ideal voice for her. (Even though I do think harassing Doctors is a perfectly admirable goal in and of itself.) But I RP entirely too many Who-fandom characters and am being terribly indecisive at the moment. Though everyone else's enthusiasm for Romana is certainly catching! Time to do a lightning-speed canon review...
Hornblower (and Paul McGann in period military dress) is undeniably lovely (though I'm only half-way through the book series myself). And as to Legally Blonde... well, it's more of a Peter Davison thing. (Which is to say my interest is fairly recent.)
And I certainly can't say no to friends, especially not such clearly awesome ones. :) Love your fic and always enjoy b_e as well, though I'm a terrible lurker.
Ah, inbox cleaning day: old comments don't stand a chance. Unless I fall asleep. Or find something to procrastinate with.
The book series starts slow with Midshipman, and Hotspur's no picnic, but otherwise it's bouncygood fun right up through Lord Hornblower, where shit gets crazy.
I enjoy its camp crack, and he's so sweet in it, even though live the audience BOOS HIM LEIK WOAH. It's so Panto and great. He's so sweet I feel /sorry/ for him when his sexual harassment fails!
