DAMMIT, I thought I'd gone with something less likely to duplicate!

Nonnie, you need to be more creative. Next time, try a 'Vogon poetry rec' thread!

Let meme tackle those burning questions and work out a few kinks.

I'm still not writing this fic, but, if Boyd Crowder was going to be a girl, what would her name be? I've been thinking Bel. I have no idea if is Isabelle is a name that would happen in that time and place, but I figure it's popular and classic enough that her mother could have gotten the name out of a book or from a movie. Googling suggests that Barbara was popular in 1970s Kentucky, so Babs is an an option but I think I like Bel a little better even if it's less likely.

Roberta would be my guess. After General Lee, of course.

Lots and lots of people are named after him in the South. Lots. Shockingly many. Often in the form of Lee as a middle name, so she might have been Roberta Lee Crowder.

Potatoes and onions and kale, oh my!

I have onions, garlic, basil, bacon, kale, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. Also staples like flour, butter, eggs, etc. And I have a corner store nearby. What can I make that would be quick and easy?

It doesn't have to include all of the above, but I am definitely craving bacon. And kale, but I could also do a side salad with that.

Do you have canned broth or bouillon cubes? You could make soup. Fry up the bacon, set it aside, saute the onions and garlic, pour in the broth, add the chopped potatoes and kale and simmer until tender. Crumble up the bacon and sprinkle it on top of the soup, or just eat it.

Have any nonnies read Kate Griffin's Midnight Mayer books? I'm currently on the third one, but I've ground to a halt. I don't know if it's a by-product of reading them back to back, but I seem to have reached my limit for reading about Matthew lurching from crisis to crisis.

Other observations: Griffin's writing feels very Pratchetty, and Matthew her Vimes.

SA *Mayor. Midnight Mayer would be Twilight related, presumably.

So I guess not liking Archer this season is pretty unpopular. It just got a two season pickup, so I know the network's DAMN happy.

Meanwhile I want to go back to s1-s3 and then just have it last forever, exactly like that. Why is that so unreasonable/impossible?

I love that they are doing something different and are sticking to the new format. However, I really can't click with this season. I can't believe I'm going to say it, but there's too much Pam. I love her character, but cocaine Pam is grating.

Yep, Pam's been my fave from day one, and cocaine Pam is my biggest issue with this season. I could probably live with any change, as long as I still loved watching Pam.
