SPN. I like supernatural things! The idea of the show seems kind of fun. But every person I have ever known who's gotten into SPN promptly went bugfuck insane so now it terrifies me.

Seasons 1-2 had a good, solid non-insane fandom (plus the beginnings of an insane fandom) so maybe just watch those two?

If you want to have a little more, seasons 1-5 should do it. They'll give you all the foundation without having to get too crazy.

Earnestness, and generally the possibility of thoughtful discussion about fandom issues. Meme's not perfect, but it's still one of the best places I know of for acknowledging nuance and differing viewpoints.
